Library

The mission of the library at Christ Episcopal School is to foster a community of life long learners and to encourage students and staff to become active, independent and discriminating users of ideas and information. The main library is located on the CBC and serves grades 1-8. The ECC has a library located in the classroom building. All students PK through 4 have one library period per week. The librarian provides instruction as well as reading aloud to the students.

The library program promotes:

  • the development of critical thinking and problem solving skills to help our students become effective readers and users of information;
  • information problem solving skills such as search, location, screening, interpretation, communication and evaluation strategies;
  • selection and discrimination skills in order manuever the expanse of information and ideas available in print as well as digitally.

Technology is an essential part of the library program.  There are  6 student computer stations in the library.
