Christ Episcopal School is accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest (ISAS) and the Southwestern Association of Episcopal Schools (SAES). ISAS (www.isasw.org) is a voluntary membership association of 82 private schools located in Arizona, Kansas, Louisana, Mexico, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. The purpose is to encourage, support and develop the highest standards for independent schools in the region. The mission of the Southwestern Association of Episcopal Schools (www.swaes.org) is to lead, to nurture, and to unify Episcopal schools in order to advance educational excellence within the faith community of the Episcopal Church. Accreditation by these organizations means that the school has undergone a vigorous program of self-study and analysis, has been investigated by representatives of the organization, and has met the criteria for membership. Christ Episcopal is the only school in St. Tammany Parish that is accredited by either of these organizations. Membership in both ISAS and SAES is open only to schools that are not-for-profit. Grounded in self-study and peer evaluation, the process of accreditation is a valuable one, enabling schools to develop and pursue clearly defined goals and objectives for the future. Accreditation addresses institutional integrity and resource management while respecting differences in school populations, missions, and cultures. Accreditation must be renewed every ten years. Christ Episcopal will be reaccredited during the 2010-2011 school year, once an extensive self-study is completed in 2009-2010.
In addition to accreditation by the above organizations, the School holds membership in the National Association of Episcopal Schools, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and the National Middle School Association. The Headmaster is a member of the Elementary School Heads Association (for independent school heads only) and the National Association of Elementary School Principals (both public and independent school principals).
