Support for Teachers and Administration Room Mothers: Pre-kindergarten through second grade mothers can volunteer to be the room mother for each class. Their role is to aid teachers and administration in organizing parties, events and field trips. We encourage all interested parties to sign up, but please be aware that there are only two positions (one room mother and one assistant) per class, so placement will depend on availability. Book Events: Events are planned throughout the year with the librarian and the administration. They include Literary Week, the book fair, the book exchange and Barnes and Nobles promotions. Birthday books and library assistance are another integral part of this committee. Literary Week is planned for February . Graduation: Helps coordinate the 7th grade graduation reception and ceremony. School Packets: CESPA provides this program as a service for parents. Materials requested by teachers for each student are compiled and presented to parents for ordering at the close of the current school year. Teachers oversee packet distribution on the 1st day of school. Parents Council: Responsible for attending monthly Parents Council meetings in New Orleans and keeping the parent body informed of pertinent information. This council is made up of other ISAS schools in our area. Speakers: Responsible for bringing speakers to the campus that will discuss issues that are of interest to our school community. 4th Wednesday of most months
