CESPA

Welcome, CES families!

The Christ Episcopal School Parent Association (CESPA) extends a warm welcome to all.

CESPA serves as both a volunteer group and a fundraising arm of the school.

As a Christ Episcopal School parent, you are automatically a member of CESPA, and your participation in the organization is the gateway to becoming involved in and knowledgeable about the school. Being actively involved in CESPA is so important as we support the school and its mission. We encourage each of our parents to learn more about us and sign up to help with one or more of the CESPA committees outlined below.

We encourage all parents to learn about us and sign up to help.

Art at the Park (AATP) is Christ Episcopal School’s fun and unique take on a school fair. This time-honored series of events is the school’s most important and largest fundraiser that supports educational enhancements for the school.

There are many ways to get involved in AATP. From the Opening Night Party geared toward adults and a Box Parade that features creative, student-made box “floats” to the day fair-like Family Fun Day and schoolwide Art Show, this fun-filled week celebrates the strong tradition of the arts at CES.

We need many volunteers for all the events, including in the areas of planning, set-up, and execution. This event definitely takes a village to complete!

Battle of the Bands 2024 is scheduled for Fall 2024

All families at both campuses are invited to celebrate their students’ birthdays by leaving a book legacy in our school libraries! The libraries are funded almost entirely by your generous gifts, and your donation goes directly into the hands of our students. For all of the details on choosing books and the corresponding celebrations, click here.

Early Childhood Campus (ECC)

What better way to leave your child’s legacy at CES than a birthday book dedicated to him or her in the school’s library? Volunteers are needed to organize books, assist students in making their choices, and make book presentations to the students. This volunteer opportunity is once a year.

Christwood Boulevard Campus (CBC)

What better way to leave your child’s legacy at CES than a birthday book dedicated to him or her in the school’s library? Volunteers are needed to organize books, assist students in making their choices, and make book presentations to the students. This volunteer opportunity is bimonthly.

The Scholastic Book Fair takes place in October on both campuses. Proceeds from our Book Fair go directly to support our school libraries. Volunteers are needed to help our librarians set up the fair and work shifts to assist the students throughout the week.

St. Nicholas makes a special morning visit to the ECC to the delight of our early pre-kindergarten and pre-kindergarten students and their families.  This is an easy, two-day volunteer job with opportunities including setup, decorating, and assistance during the activities.

There is nothing like a little friendly competition on the field to cap off the school year. Volunteers are needed for the Lower School and Junior High field days to organize the events, set up the activities, and help the students play games. This is a one-day volunteer opportunity (Lower School and Junior High events are held on separate days).

Students show off their campuses and create lasting memories with their grandparents or special friends. Volunteers are needed to be on-hand to set up, welcome guests, and serve refreshments. This is a single-day volunteer job.

The 2023 Greens & Poinsettias Sale is closed. Delivery is expected the week after Thanksgiving; details will be shared when a specific date has been set.

CES offers our school and business communities a variety of Christmas poinsettias and greens to decorate with for the holiday season. This fundraiser provides vital funds for classroom and campus equipment and offsets the costs associated with CESPA-sponsored events such as Literary Week and Kindness Week. Volunteers are needed for sales in early October, and help is also needed when orders are delivered to the campus the week after Thanksgiving break.

This week promotes kindness among students and faculty. This committee coordinates activities for students on both campuses throughout one week in October combined with the Raise Craze fundraiser that supports acts of kindness and service from the students to the community. Volunteers are needed for planning and to be on campus during the week to assist.

This night takes place in October during Kindness Week when our students and families come together to participate in activities that strengthen our community. Volunteers are needed for planning, set-up, and event assistance.

Literary Week is a week-long student enrichment program that brings local authors and performers to our campus for a week of literary adventures. Volunteers will sign up for various shifts to work during  this event.

The CBC is transformed into a one-stop holiday shopping extravaganza with booths from area retailers. The event takes place during two days in November. Volunteers are needed for planning, set-up, breakdown, and onsite hospitality services.

This special night takes place in August when we welcome our new CES families. Volunteers are needed for planning, setting up, and welcoming the newest Wildcats.

Would you like to be involved in the fun activities going on in your child’s classroom? Do you like to coordinate events and plan parties? Then this is the committee for you.

This committee works with teachers in the spring to compile school supply lists. Volunteers are needed in early August to help organize and distribute orders before the start of the school year.

A popular fundraiser, Smoothie King smoothies are available for CBC students to purchase (in advance) one day each month. Profits support The Barn, our on-campus sanctuary for abandoned domestic animals and native Louisiana fauna.

Click here to buy smoothies for the rest of the year or individually each month; all flavors are dairy-free.

Volunteers are needed to pick up and distribute smoothies to students once a month during the school year.

This committee helps plan lunches or treats for our dedicated faculty and staff at each division. Volunteers are needed to donate items and help coordinate appreciation days.

The committee also organizes Teacher Appreciation Week. The committee plans something special each of these days, including lunch, treats, and more.  Volunteers are needed to help set up, serve lunch, solicit donations, and plan the events.

To make a monetary donation to the Sunshine Committee, click here. You may also send cash or a check (made payable to CESPA with “Sunshine” in the memo) to your student’s teacher or divisional assistant in a sealed envelope marked “CESPA Sunshine.”

The Wildcat Den is our CES online spiritwear store. Volunteers are needed to assist with pop-up shops during special events at school throughout the year.

Click here to shop the Wildcat Den online, and your orders will be delivered to your designated student’s classroom.

Volunteers work with our chaplains to help plan worship services, provide wine and bread, and assist with setup and service bulletins.  Volunteers are also needed to help in the Godly Play classrooms.
